Harry’s is always at the top of my list when I’m in the mood for authentic New Orleans style cuisine. For appetizers, we ordered the Louisiana Fondeaux and the fried green tomatoes. The Fondeaux was absolutely delicious with a rich, creamy blend of crawfish, shrimp, and cheeses served bubbling hot with toasted bread for dipping. The fried green tomatoes were crisp on the outside, tender inside, and topped with a tangy remoulade that added just the right kick.
For entrées, the Crawfish Étouffée was so good with a deep, comforting flavor, and a velvety sauce that coated every bite of rice. The Jambalaya was hearty and well-balanced, loaded with sausage, chicken, and shrimp, all seasoned with a satisfying Cajun spice. I especially appreciated that the sauces were flavorful without being overly salty, as they sometimes can be. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and our meals came out quickly, making for an all-around enjoyable dining experience.

Incredible food! 10/10 for flavor and service. The ambiance felt laid back. We loved our waitress. She was so helpful with helping us pick our dishes. Parking can be a challenge to find. There is a paid parking lot around the corner.

I dined alone on a bustling Saturday night (04/11/2026). At around 7:20pm, I walked in and I was greeted by very welcoming hostesses who seemed to be in great communication with each other. This was amazing to see, as it was the first indicator that dinner was going to be great.
I was then sat and greeted by my server Hailey, who seemed to be quite busy, which is expected on a Saturday night. Her smile, great attitude and attentiveness kept the experience worth waiting for. I noticed the manager (with the green shirt) was on the floor, very observational and communicative, helping out the staff, handing out to go orders, etc. He seemed to be the kind of manager you would want on duty. It was so nice to watch a staff work together, and I noticed there was no tension in the air between employees and everyone seemed busy, yet not overwhelmed. That’s usually reflective of a good floor plan and hostesses who are patient with their seating. I also noticed the busser was so quick and attentive, resulting in a decent table turnover rate. He made sure to clean and set tables very well. My food arrived by a very kind food runner. These kind of moments make the dining experience so much more worth it, to know that I am enjoying food in an environment enjoyed by its own employees is so important and lost in the restaurant industry these days. The food was great as always. Harry’s honey mustard is most phenomenal.

This was our second experience with Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille.
The first time in Lakeland, this time in Ocala.
Both restaurants are nestled in the historic district of the respective cities, adjacent to charming old parks.
So if you have to wait, as we did on a Thursday evening at 6:30, you leave your number and they text your phone when your table is ready, while you relax under the trees next door.
We only had to wait for about 10 minutes.
The food choices are extensive and reasonably priced.
I had the grilled Red Fish, my wife had the Crab Cakes.
Both were very good with generous portions.
Service is friendly, efficient and our server Miles was quite helpful.
We topped the dinner off with a slice of key lime pie.
We split the slice as it is delicious but quite rich, as it should be.
We had one small hiccup and the restaurant manager, a real gentleman, ironed that out immediately.
If I had to say anything critical it would be our section had carpeting, and there was a slight odour.
As if it had gotten damp one too many times.
Carpet is a challenge in restaurants, no question.
Anyway, needless to say Harry’s in Ocala comes highly recommended!
