We went to District Bar & Kitchen on a Friday evening in July 2026 and had so much fun!
Our server, Kyle, was so attentive, accommodating, professional and happy. We ate on the second-floor terrace with a table overlooking the balcony views of Downtown.
We ordered Shrimp and Grits, along with white sangria. Both were delicious! The serving size was huge!
The best part of our outing was Dustin, the musician who was singing and playing piano. He is so very funny, talented and entertaining. He brought the party to life with his song choices, good energy and comedic style. He invited everyone to dance, sing along and make requests. He even had me hold his harmonica while he played; which turned out hilariously! Everyone had a great time! Hooray!!!!

I dined alone on an energetic Friday night (4/17/26). I was greeted by very welcoming hosts who were attentive. I sat at the bar, and was taken care of by very polite bartenders who made sure everything was great. They seemed like lovely friends. Their ability to hold conversation and make people laugh was very entertaining to see. Wonderful, friendly service. The food came out nice and fresh. The fries here are amazing, soft and crunchy. I definitely recommend.

We stopped here for lunch while checking out the Ocala area. What a great find. Our server was very attentive and knew his stuff. I ordered the smash burger and and on his suggestion got the tater tots as my side. He did not disappoint. The smash burger was excellent and the tater tots were fantastic. It’s apparent they have an excellent cook who knows how to season his food. Deb got the Cajun dry rub chicken strips and proclaimed they may have been the best ever. They appeared hand made and were a very good portion. Her only complaint was that now it will be difficult to find really good chicken strips going forward. Unfortunately I forgot to snap a pic of them before they were devoured.

They need to rethink the “best restaurant in Ocala.” Because this might be the best restaurant in north Florida PERIOD. I ordered the beet and goat cheese salad and my husband, who swore he didn’t want salad, ate it with me. Lol. For entrees, I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the smash burger. Both were soooo freakin good!! The shrimp and grits has a Parmesan flavor to it and it’s just sooo well seasoned. The smash burger is an ACTUAL smash burger with thin and crispy edges how we like it. Also, for it to be an outdoor spot in Florida, I was really impressed by the lack of bugs. 😂Really good food overall and we will definitely be back!

I came to Ocala for a horse show for my business BBK leather designs, and we wanted somewhere good to eat! A quick search showed that this place was highly rated and had great drinks.
I had the shrimp and grits which was the top if not the second from the top best grits I've ever had! The sangria, which we got a picture of, was also fantastic! Good balance of sweetness and fruitiness!
You overlook the Downtown area that looks like it's in the midst of being revamped. Great outdoor seating on that second floor with lots of TVs and open airspace!
