We visited Brick City Southern Kitchen on a Saturday in July 2026; and, it was full of diners when we arrived. There were large parties dining together, booth seating, smaller groups at cafeteria-style-arranged tables, bar seating, and outdoor patio seating that looks out to the Downtown Square.
Our server David was very quick and knowledgeable with our orders.
We got the Boom Boom Shrimp, French fries and lemonade. And, it was delicious! Some of the tastiest Boom Boom Shrimp either of us has ever had! Just enough spicy kick, and plenty of crispy crunch. The homestyle fries come as a huge portion to be shared. The lemonade was perfect-not too sweet, and, so refreshing.
The vibe was relaxed with music playing, beautiful natural light coming in from the large windows, and highlighting the golden hued bar area. Cool atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service...we will definitely be back!

Idk why this is only 4.5 stars. I am super picky when it comes to food. Ordered the burnt ends ( to die for) wings (amazing) fries w the dripping gravy ( outstanding) drinks were great. We shared 3 meat combo. Double brisket and pulled pork. They even split the plate for us. Ive been living in florida for over 2 yrs now and this is the best meal we have had. Everything was outstanding. Our server sara was great! Thank u!

Greasy Shrimp & Grits is how I will remember this restaurant. Flavorless green beans and stale corn bread was the nail in their coffin. After and before pic attached. I hope my tummy doesn’t revolt. I ate more than I should have because I was hungry. With so many other restaurant near by why did I pick BCSC. 🤦🏽♀️ Epic fail on my part. Only redeeming factor was the great service.

Ocala has a beautiful historic downtown with a variety of independent restaurants, some more high end dining, some more middle of the road, which is where I live.
I like good food, preferably barbecue, and good healthy portions.
I found all of this and more at Brick City Southern Kitchen.
Great food, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Really like the wall art, well stocked whisky bar, and clean washrooms as well.
I had a pulled pork sandwich.
I highly recommend the vinegar sauce, sounds odd but it works.
Cole slaw, fries and pit beans are very good too.
My wife had the BBQ chicken, great portion and quite good.
We’ll be back!!

Oh my goodness!!! What a place! Went with an appetite and found it on Google, best places to eat near me. With a rating of 4.9, it was worth a chance. Well…..we agree and have given it a 5.0. It’s an experience of the senses:
You walk in to the smell of BBQ, subtle yet flavorful, opening up your palate and appetite. The restaurant is large, dimmed natural lighting, and inviting. You can hear the subtle background sounds of conversations and laughter. There is a wall-to-wall bar; I’ve never seen so many different types of liquors. The bar area is ample and gives you the feeling of being in a saloon. And now, the food and the taste. Amazing!! Truly! Those smells, from the time you walk in, reflect a chef and cooks hard at work to produce tender and flavor packed meats! You’ve got to go and check it out for yourself! From the brisket burns tips to the variety of samplers (build-your-own-plate), everything was delicious. And a big bonus is that the staff are all friendly, smiling and help add to the relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Sarah, who was our server, did a great job! Followed up regularly and always had a smile on her face. We know we will return to Brick City ! You should too! 👍🏻
