Hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had. The only thing better than your food is your employees. Every employee was welcoming and kind. I even witnessed the tall young man behind the counter carry an old ladies food out to her car for her. Between the excellent food and the great service I’ll definitely be a return customer.

Super tasty barbecue joint. The chopped brisket sandwich was loaded and amazing.. wasn't a fan of the barbecue sauce, there was only two options to choose from on the tables, but the tenderness of the brisket made up for it. Trying to order at the counter was super slow. Lastly, I didn't have the ribs, but I saw a few people eating them and they looked super dry and not very inviting. I will definitely come back to this restaurant, though.

7/24/2026 @ 4:00 pm - I stumbled upon this BBQ spot on Instagram, and we took an hour’s drive to check it out. Honestly, it’s the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The brisket is absolutely amazing, but I’m not sure there’s anything else on the menu that doesn’t taste great. My husband and I split two different meals so we could try everything. The service was fantastic, and the staff were so friendly. We’re definitely coming back! I’ll send over some photos.

I was very disappointed with my Father’s Day visit to Big Lee’s BBQ.
We came specifically for the barbecue chicken, but they were already out. So I ordered the brisket instead. Unfortunately, they were also out of mac & cheese, corn, and bread rolls. The cashier never mentioned they were out of bread, so my platter came with no bread at all. When my wife asked about it, they handed us a hamburger bun instead.
The side choices with the brisket were also disappointing. The mac & cheese with brisket mix was not a good pairing at all—I ended up throwing the entire cup away.
My son ordered a hamburger and said it tasted just like the burgers they serve at school. He was expecting something with much more flavor, especially from a barbecue restaurant.
I understand that restaurants can run out of items, especially on a busy holiday, but customers should be informed before ordering so they can decide if they still want the meal. Overall, this visit was a letdown, especially on Father’s Day.

well i had very high expectations for Big Lees and the food side didn't disappoint. Some of the Best Brisket i have had in a long time. The things that need to worked on like cleanliness of restaurant trash was over flowing. soda and tea machines were all not working at the time i went to get our drinks. Someone told the staff and they eventually got out to fill the sweet tea, and get the soda machine up and running.
When we got there the line was out the door amd down the sidewalk!.I double checked with the wife and she said well we had been wanting to try them and dont get down to Ocala very often so we opted to wait in line, eventually it was our turn i had the wife sit at an open table as the seating is extremely and i mean extremely limited. ppl were staging to get seats when ppl eventually got up after eating , I ordered our food ,at the time of ordering they bad everything i had ordered. by the time my order( 1 hr later )came up they were out of baked beans , so i got the wife corn nuggets. By the time i got to her with the food i had to refills her drink and finally sweet tea was full, There was a lady there who ordered , she told me while we were standing there it had been almost 2 hrs till she got her order.....!!!!
Think with their popularity they may need to look into expansion if possible of the present location. or moving to a Much much larger location. And hire more help elevate the pressure off of the workers as they were definitely trying to keep up with the demand and sheer volume of customers.
