Ocala has a beautiful historic downtown with a variety of independent restaurants, some more high end dining, some more middle of the road, which is where I live.
I like good food, preferably barbecue, and good healthy portions.
I found all of this and more at Brick City Southern Kitchen.
Great food, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Really like the wall art, well stocked whisky bar, and clean washrooms as well.
I had a pulled pork sandwich.
I highly recommend the vinegar sauce, sounds odd but it works.
Cole slaw, fries and pit beans are very good too.
My wife had the BBQ chicken, great portion and quite good.
We’ll be back!!

We dined here after looking up reviews about pet friendly places and the reviews were on point! The staff was great & welcoming to our newly adopted Jack Russell Terrier who was barking almost non-stop! We dined outside and the food was great! This was our first time visiting Ocala and we'll be back for sure with our quieter JRT 😂

Fast, drinks always full A+++.The food was all great mashed potatoes use white gravy and has a biscuit and gravy taste yum yum!!,Mac and cheese is creamy But my daughter said it was a little tasteless.all the meats were great and moist, their chipotle BBQ sauce is great! Ate at Brick City Southern Kitchen and it’s a great downtown spot when you’re craving real Southern comfort food. The place has that brick-and-wood vibe, the BBQ smells amazing the second you walk in, and the menu has plenty to choose from without feeling overwhelming. I went with smoked meat + sides and everything tasted fresh, not like it was sitting under a heat lamp. Drinks are a big part of the experience too—good options if you like whiskey or cocktails. It can get busy, but it still feels worth it.
